June 5th from 6:30-8:30, the Mike Finnigan School of Music in Salina's Stiefel Theatre is hosting a workshop on Barrelhouse Piano. Pat O'Connor will take participants down the road to turpentine camps and railroad towns where the music originated.

Attendees will learn the history of the style with examples from major influences, and the use of charts and exercises to come up with their own arrangements. Barrelhouse is a two-handed method of playing early jazz, ragtime, and blues.

In addition, a brief history of Black music in Kansas will be touched on, showing the importance of African American performers in our state.

Cost is $20 for a two-hour session.

Their usual Friday night gig has been moved to Saturday night.

Rock 'n' roll recording artists and globe-trotting journeymen Devon Allman and Donavon Frankenreiter are hoping to make history in 2023. The longtime friends have teamed up for the See It All American Tour to attempt to set the Official World Record for fastest time to play a concert in each of the 50 states, which is currently 50 in 50 days set in 2003. The concept is simple, but the execution will be brutal as Allman and Frankenreiter seek to complete the challenge in 49 days.

To commemorate this special occasion, the two multi- talented artists are releasing a collaborative new single "See It All"

Scott Fowler is a local artist specializing in singer-songwriter and acoustic music. His set consists of artists like John Mayer, Amos Lee, The Beatles, and Coldplay. He also plays original songs from his first solo album. No cover.

We’ve played the Shamrock more than any other club in Wichita and have had some killer shows there over the years. It’s our pleasure to share some of that energy with you all as we present 9 songs recorded live at our home venue in the hometown. We hope to see all of our ICT friends there on Oct. 27 for the release party! Our buddy Tom Pevear from Tulsa will be our special guest to open the show with some old-school country blues finger-picking guitar. Y'all don't want to miss this one!

Ken Valdez returns with a fire breathing rock record entitled Saints And Sinners, named after a former rough and tumble roadhouse in northern New Mexico where Valdez was born and raised. While this guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer fuses elements of blues, rock, funk and Latin music to create a sound all his own, he kicked things up a notch this time out. Valdez has stated the record is “…deep and personal but a fun and wild ride”.

GA-20 clearly is on to something big. It’s a movement, a new traditional blues revival. The dynamic, throwback blues trio are disciples of the place where traditional blues, country and rock ‘n’ roll intersect. “We make records that we would want to listen to,” says guitarist Matt Stubbs. “It’s our take on the song-based traditional electric blues we love.” Stubbs and guitarist/vocalist Pat Faherty, and drummer Tim Carman have been at the forefront of this traditional blues revival since they first formed in 2018. It’s no wonder they skyrocketed to the top of the Billboard Blues Charts.

This soulful rocker, originally from Chicago, has had a passion for singing throughout her entire life.
