Ms. Lady Dee “Me & the Boyz”:  Led by the powerful, yet sensual, vocals of Deanna Custard (Lady D), this Midwest-based high energy act features a supporting cast of Kevin Easterwood (drums) and Val Williams (bass & vocals). Bad Mother Hubbard: Bad Mother Hubbard is a Wichita, Kansas-based five-piece soul, blues, funk, and jazz band. Lalanea Walsh – vocals/guitar; Alex Nordine – guitar/vocals; Rudy Love Jr. – vocals/keyboards; Reggie Littleton – bass; Brian Powell – drums.

Code Blue Band: Hector Chavez and Tom Colella have been playing their rocking style of blues as Code Blue since 1997. With Fletcher Miller on drums, they are still burning up the earwaves playing hard rockin’ heart stoppin’ blues rock. Big Red Horse: Big Red Horse is a rock n’ roll band from Wichita, Kansas. They are in your face, energetic, and entertaining. Kalo: The band won the prestigious Wichita Blues Challenge in 2014, securing a space to compete in the world renowned International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tenn., in January 2015. Cleveland Blue: Cleveland came up playing the Blues in the great state of Ohio, where many varieties of the Blues connect. He honed his talents in hard, rough and tough venues where he learned to entertain a crowd. Visit his website.

Front Porch Blues: Front Porch Blues is Terry Harrison on harmonica and vocals, and Monty Harrison on guitar and vocals.

Rachelle Coba: Rachelle Coba mastered the finger-picking techniques of classical guitar while earning a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Miami. She then chose to apply that facility to electric guitar and began playing the blues. Consequently, Rachelle has developed her own, unique approach to blues guitar lead and rhythm playing. Tara Carr and Kirk Sorensen: Tara Carr and Kirk Sorensen, together play a combination of blues, traditional and contemporary acoustic music, with a dash of originals. Carr sings with a sensitivity that is hard to find now days and Sorensen’s harmonica and guitar playing is some of the most versatile you’ll ever hear!

Youth Bands

The Pina Brothers: Wichita’s well known blues driven brother band is made up of vocalist and Guitar player Brandon Pina, older brother Andre on bass, and younger brother Chris on drums. The Pina Brothers play an authentic roadhouse blues sound that crowds love. In 2015, they represented KC in the youth division at IBC. Visit their website.

2 Picks and a Kick/2PK: The multi-instrumental Volkmann Brothers, Landon and Brady, have been inspiring younger crowds with their blues and jazz influenced music. They are regular WBS hosts for Blues in The Schools eductaional presentations. You’ll also catch them grooving at several venues with Blaine Martin (bass) and Vaughn Craddock (drums). They play tunes from Dr. John to Jimi Hendrix. Visit their website.

Skylines The Band: The highly skilled younger musicians are known for their grooving jazzy-blues sound. Landon Volkmann (vox), Blaine Martin (bass), Scott Hershberger (keyboard), John Kohl (sax), Ethan Martin (trombone), Brady Volkmann (Guitar), and Vaughn Craddock (drums) are mentored by Tj White (director) every Sunday.
